Hi, I’m King,
I was born and grew up in Sydney, NSW, Australia and was fortunate to have a fun childhood and adolescence plus a good education.
However, I did not manage my final year at high school very well. Studying conflicted with partying so I did not get the marks expected to get into law school as needed for that year, upsetting my main plan.
As it turned out, this had a silver lining ...
After school I pursued my second choice and did business studies for the travel and tourism industry and commenced working for, arguably, the best large travel company in the country. I spent many happy years there plus a three year stint in the middle working at the parent company in the UK, in London. I loved the travel industry and the people I worked with and rose through the ranks quite rapidly. I enjoyed it immensely because it was a passion (so what happens next makes me a bit crazy).
Back in Sydney, I watched a close friend change career path by studying law relatively late on that path. This was the catalyst for me deciding to scratch the old itch and do the same thing. I succeeded and have been a practising lawyer for many years. I’ve worked in a few different areas of law for small, medium and large global firms. Finally, I set up my own law practice. All this has given me purposeful, well paid work, however, I’ve never derived from the law the same sort of enjoyment I did from the travel industry.
I should have known law wasn’t truly for me whilst still in my first year at law school. On the one hand, my friend, at every party we were at, could talk of nothing but the law. On the other hand, I did not do that. So, I knew way back then that I did not have the same passion, and there’s the rub … you need to have passion, you need to love what you do. However, as you know, I stubbornly finished studying and started working as a lawyer and kept going because you think you’ll grow into it and you get used to a certain level of income and the lifestyle it supports which includes commitments.
Without the ingredient of passion, whatever you do may, at best, just be ‘okay’ which it was. But after many years ‘okay’ became ‘not very good’ or worse. And of course, the older I got, the older anyone gets, the harder it is to change careers and you eventually hear yourself screaming “Get me out of here!” You come to know that you need more passion and purpose but simultaneously maintain or improve your income and lifestyle.
So, how can you change your trajectory? How can you change careers after 50 or 60 when you’ve already had enough of what you’re doing?! Even after 40 it's not that easy. I guess if you’ve got enough saved or invested to retire early (without ruining your retirement plans) then perhaps an early exit from the workforce is your answer. Not many of us can do that; certainly not me; not enough funds for future plans and, anyway, what purpose would there be in each day?
As you can see, I’m not one for ‘retirement’ per se, it seems a bit of an outdated concept. I want to keep active and engaged, to have purpose and security but also, importantly, a high degree of flexibility and freedom. I want lots of time for my personal passions and projects, especially travel with family and friends.
The educational program that this website describes recently entered my life through a YouTube advertisement. I requested the free video series offered on the ad and saw the answer to my old questions about how to navigate a late career change and retirement.
An online business of my own! (Who’d of thought?) And one that I love and am passionate about (Woooooo Hooooooooo!!!). Why? Because it helps my family, and I also get to help others help theirs! The possibilities offered by this program to many people in similar situations to me are amazing. I've met some of them here which has been an added benefit and a delight.
Anyway, that’s my story in short, which may gel with people of similar age or situation. But obviously, the program can also help people of any age who are simply looking to start a lifestyle business of their own, or current business owners looking for a way to bring their traditional business online or improve their existing online results. There are many ways to apply the learnings here as becomes clear once you’re engaged in the course and the supportive community.
I’m evidently of the view that this is a great place to be! The 21st Century has opened massive new opportunities we’re not necessarily aware of, or skilled for, but the knowledge is easily acquired here in this program - the tech skills, the tools and the authority marketing concepts.
Instead of just spending money online like we all do so often, I’ve learned how to harness the internet for personal income.
This education provides a modern way to greater wealth and freedom in a relatively short time frame and at relatively low cost for those who commit, learn, follow and apply the knowledge.
